Moving Out, Moving On

Moving out of our old house was a bittersweet experience. Not only had we lived there for over 7 years (the longest I've lived anywhere since I moved out of my parents' house), but it was also the first house we owned.

We were excited about moving on to our new house and knew that it was a good change for us, but it was still hard to say goodbye.

We hired a local moving company to help us move. This is the same company that moved us into the house 7 years ago, and in fact, the crew leader for this move was the same as last time. These guys were excellent - friendly, professional, and courteous.

To me, hiring movers is absolutely worth every single penny. They showed up at our house at around 9am and for a couple of hours, things looked a little chaotic.

And then, before lunch time, the house was empty and we were on the road to the new house.

After a stop for lunch, we were at the new house and moving in. I directed traffic and the rooms quickly started to fill up with furniture and boxes. By 4pm, the truck was empty and pulling out of the driveway.

We were finally home in the new house.

I thought you did a lot of work on the old house? What prompted the move? Hope you settle in quick!
