Busch Gardens

On our mini-vacation to Busch Garden we did all kinds of fun things. It was incredibly hot, so we sweated our butts off and almost walked our feet off, but we had a great time! The best part was that the park was not very crowded (I guess the more sane people stay out of the 105 degree heat index!); the longest line we waited in was about 30 minutes.

(sharing a frozen lemonade to stay cool)

We are roller coaster junkies, so we rode all the rides multiple times. One of our favorites was Griffon, which begins by dropping you 205' straight down at 70 mph and has several other drops and loops. SO FUN!

I knew about the famous Clydesdale Horses but didn't realize there would be so many other animals to see.

We saw bald eagles.

And lots of other birds and reptiles.

We saw a couple of shows - the animal shenanigans was really cute. They also demonstrate how they do some of the training which was really interesting. The show had dogs, cats, parrots, rats, pidgeons, geese, and pigs. It was pretty impressive.
(the "Strongest Dog in America" used his paw and mouth to lift a "1 ton" weight)

We also visited the wolf habitat and watched some of their training. It was very cool to see some of Kip's same mannerisms in the wolves.

And we ate the world's best soft serve ice cream -- in a chocolate dipped waffle cone! BD shared this with me. He ate it with a spoon; I ate it with my face. I practically had to take a bath in one of the park's fountains when I was finished.
