Been There. Skied That.

I'm starting to discover why people never take vacations and end up with 14 kabillion hours of PTO stockpiled. It's because although the vacation itself is fabulous, the killer week before and the insane week after the vacation makes it almost not even worth it.

But, it's Saturday now, and I slept for 12 hours last night, and it's sunny here, so I think it's time to look at some vaca pics, yes? Okay, then...on with the show!

(Dims the lights/loads up the projector.)

We went to Big Sky, Montana with BD's dad and step mom. We rented a ski-in/ski-out condo that had access to both the Big Sky resort and the Moonlight Basin resort. It was also about 50 yards from the Moonlight Spa - which we didn't know before we got there, but we certainly weren't complaining about it!

We woke up to beautiful scenery every day. The weather for the first half of the week was sunny and warm -- perfect spring skiing weather. Snow moved in later in the week, and we skied on fresh powder for a few days.

BD and his dad skied together every morning. They skied with me in the afternoons, and I also went to ski school a couple of times. I don't ski as well as they do, so ski school is fun for me to improve my skiing and ski with people who are on my level.

BD likes to ski non-stop from lift open until lift close. I think his dad was pretty tired by the end of the week.
Some other interesting things we saw were prairie dogs outside the airport, the standard "mardi gras" tree (I think a tree like this exists at every US ski resort), and a search and rescue dog on the ski lift.
