Tales of the Tail: The One With the Fort
Kip uses our table as a fort. His first line of defense anytime we're trying to make him do something he deems unacceptable (like clipping his toenails - the horror!) is to make a bee-line for the table. It's also a good central location for him to keep an eye on both the kitchen and the den.

I love how he's totally sticking out but thinks he's invisible: "They'll never find me here!" :)
Shorty sometimes shivers when I get home, like he's scared of me, and one time I released him from his kennel and he went into our bedroom and stuck just his head under the bed.
My parent's yellow lab also uses their table as a fort, it's so cute!
