If Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend...

then shoes must be her favorite cousin.

I have always been a high heels girl. I don't think they are uncomfortable, and I like the fact that they make my (short) legs look longer. That was great when I worked in banking - I had to be dressed up every day, so heels fit right into that lifestyle. But my current workplace is strictly casual, not to mention that I go to school two days a week -- a business suit and heels don't really work well in either environment. I have slowly been making the transition to flats and low-heeled shoes. Today it was time to add some fall shoes to my line-up.

(Candie's Varzity black and brown argyle print, 1-inch heel - Kohl's, about $30)

(Madden Girl Velour black, 1-inch heel - DSW, about $35)

(New Balance 422's orange - DSW, about $50)

I should also mention, in case you can't already tell, that I love shoes. Also, I am one of those obnoxious people who takes good care of my shoes, so they always look brand new. The downside to this is that I hardly ever need to throw a pair away. The old ones get "retired" to the back of my closet or the storage room, and they sit there and collect dust. About six months ago, I went through and donated a bunch - mainly dressy shoes that I no longer need. Today I decided it was time for another purge.

Remember how I said I take good care of shoes? There are three pairs in this picture that I've had since high school.

They have all received the Kip seal of approval to be taken to Goodwill.

Thank you for posting this! I've been looking for 1 to 1.5 inch heels for work (anything higher and I want to DIE), and that 2nd pair looks right up my alley. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to DSW next week.

P.S. That first pair is divine.

The first pair IS divine!

Wonder if I ever borrowed any of those shoes from high school? Actually, probably not because I think my foot is bigger. I do remember borrowing your Gap short overalls and thinking I was particularly HOT!
